Biography:
As salamu alaikum
My name is Latoya Benjamin and I was born and raised in Canada. I am a mother of 2 girls and 1 boy and they are my EVERYTHING. I received my Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and my teaching degree from York University. I knew since the age of 14 that I wanted to be a teacher and inspire others as I was inspired. After completing my first degree I journeyed across the world to Japan to begin my teaching career. I then moved to South Korea where I worked and lived for 2 years. In the following years I moved to Oman where I taught for several years and then moved to the UAE. I specifically moved to the UAE to join NGS. I believe that it is important to educate the Muslim youth, both secularly and Islamically, and prepare them for the world that they are about to enter. I found that NGS aligned to my own personal beliefs and values and I wanted to be a part of a project that is important for the Muslim community.
Aside, from being in the field of education I enjoy travelling to new countries.
